All departments have well equipped laboratories, including those from Rock Mechanics,Mine Enviroment and Safety, Mine Surveying,Mining Models. Mechanical Engg. Laboratories such as Thermal,Steam Power,Theory of Machines,Computer System,CAD Oil Hydraulics, Strength of Material,Fluid Power,Fluid Mechanics,Material Handling,Mining Machinery,Driling Eng.,Palesmagnetism, Gravity and magnetic field,Electromagnetic models,Seismic. D.C resistivity,Instrumentation,Rock Cutting,Ore Geology and Sedimentology,Petrology,Geohydrology,Chemistry and Corrosion Research,Ceramics Engg.,Fuel Engg.,Mineral Engg., Perophysics,Driling Fluids,Reservoir Fluids,Reservoir Engg.,Crude Oil and product Testing,Petroleum Engg.,X-ray Spectroscopy,Natural Science Systems,Radioactivity Methods,Industrial Psychology Ergonomics,Electronics,Communication, Fibre optics,Instrumentation,Scanning Electron Microscope and Energy Dispensive X-Ray.

There is also an equivalent material Model Set-Up,a Ventilation Network analogue,an analogue reservior analyser unit and various other Petroleum Engg. equipments.The University has extensive Geology Museum, Department of Applied Geology has a annex buliding housing a state of art XRD and XRF for rapid geochemical analysis. A 30 M long wall-training gallery is available at the Mining Engineering department along with other facilities. The University has Siesmological Laboratory,Remote Sensing Laboratory and Remote Sensing Reference.A new seismic data processing laboratory with eight terminals entirely configured in LINUX has been established in collaboration with ONGC in the name of Jack Chen Seismic Data Processing Laboratory,Spectrometer etc.
